+ Sylvia R. Caiazzi – Wife of Dario
STERLING-Sylvia Rose (Godard) Caiazzi, 75, of Sterling, passed away Tuesday, February 8th with her loving family by her side. She leaves her beloved husband of 55 years, Dario J. Caiazzi; three sons, Christopher C. Caiazzi and his wife Susan of Wilton, NH, Philip J. Caiazzi and his wife Theresa of Scarborough, ME and Gerald E. Caiazzi of Leominster; her daughter Susan C. Gray and her husband William of Leominster; two grandchildren, Michelle and Bret Caiazzi of Scarborough, ME and two step grandchildren, Pearl Gray of Queens, NY and Max Gray of Groton, CT.
She was born in Leominster, the only child of Curtis and Camella (Montaquila) Godard. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1953 and enjoyed class reunions where she was able to catch up with friends. Sylvia had worked in the cafeteria at the Houghton School in Sterling for 17 years and for 10 years at Darby’s Bakery. Mrs. Caiazzi was also a member of Saint Anna’s Society.
Sylvia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending her children’s sporting events, where she was one of their most enthusiastic fans. She was also a proud and devoted Nonna to her beloved grandchildren, Michelle and Bret. Sylvia will be remembered for her sharp wit and humor, and her genuine good nature. She will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
Per Sylvia’s wish funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sterling Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564 or to the charity of the donor’s choice. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
